How can you edit or build your own m3u playlist with Notepad++
- Open Notepad++ and create a new file.
- Click “Language” in the top menu bar, and select “Pascal” from the list. This will enable syntax highlighting for M3U playlists.
- Enter the header information for your playlist on separate lines, such as “#EXTM3U” to indicate that it is an extended M3U playlist and any other relevant information such as the playlist name or author.
- Enter the paths to the audio files you want to include in your playlist, one per line. For each file, you can also add metadata such as artist and song name using the “#EXTINF” tag followed by the duration in seconds and the metadata. For example, “#EXTINF:240, Artist – Song Title” would indicate that the following audio file is 240 seconds long and is called “Artist – Song Title”.
- Save the file by clicking “File” in the top menu bar, and selecting “Save”. Choose a location to save your playlist and give it a name.
To edit an existing M3U playlist with headers using Notepad++, simply open the file in Notepad++ and make the desired changes to the header information, file paths, or metadata. Then, save the file as described above.
